This Muhura is particularly known as "Aaprupi" (आपरुपी). The philosophy behind this name and this Deity is that, any God or Deity can be worshipped in this face and the local people of this area worshiping this Deity as Shiva. As we see the iconography of this Muhura, it exactly looks like Lord Shiva. There is Half Moon on the chignon, there are big Ears, kundalas and most important, Serpent on the chest. There are also some extra features like Crowns, ornaments on the Muhura. Details in Muhura or Metal Face 1. Keerti Mukh:- it is an essential component of art on the Pylon of Gates and Thrones in south india. By now keerti Mukh can be seen in the wooden art of Upper Himachali Region*. But here, local people believe that this face is of their Deity Ganeshi, which is very supreme and is above all the deities in Chariot. 2. Simple Flower:- It looks like very simple, and there is no such species of flowers described with Deota. 3. Chignon:- A very beautiful representation of hairs can be seen in the chignon. There are tiny section of hairs between ornaments. 4. Aardha Chandra or Half Moon:- Shiva's Characterstics 5. Crown:- It's very decorative and well crafted three Conical Crown. 6 .Big Ears:- It is symbolic representation of a wise person. But it may be due the large earings on both sides. 7. Kundala:- It can be simple earings, or can be the local earings like "Bragar", "Gokhru" or etc. But I think kundal is a appropriate word for it. 8. Necklace:- Beads are lined with a lace from both side and heaving a big Gem on the bottom. 9. Khagala and Silver Coin:- "खगाला" is a local ornament, usually wears by native peoples of the area. Here Coin is just part of ornament. 10. Serpent:- It is also characteristics of Shiva. It is also a symbolic representation of protector. But here, hump like structure can be seen on the head of Serpent, also in some Deities it looks like the head portion, while in others, it looks like a Gem on the head of Serpent.
